Dear Oster Families and Staff,

I am honored to announce, following a rigorous search and interview process, Mr. Kyle Sanchez was selected and approved as Oster Elementary's new principal starting in the 2024-25 school year. Last night, following my recommendation, the Board of Trustees unanimously approved Mr. Sanchez, and he will officially begin on July 1, 2024. 

Mr. Kyle Sanchez brings forth a wealth of extensive knowledge, leadership experience and genuine commitment to serve all students from his 16 years in public education. Mr. Sanchez has led in multiple capacities from a high school history teacher, dean of students and school site administrator. In the last 12 years, Mr. Sanchez served as a pivotal instructional leader at two different elementary schools and a middle school assistant principal in the Evergreen School District. His service oriented mindset and actions go well beyond the many years of being an educational leader inside and outside of the classroom. Prior to his time in education, Mr. Sanchez graciously served our country as a US Marine for five years. His dedication to collaborate, lead and support others in public education, coupled with his service-oriented mindset, will be invaluable in fostering a partnership with Oster students, staff, and families.

Last night at the Governing Board Meeting, Mr. Sanchez shared his enthusiasm to be joining the Oster community and USD.  Mr. Sanchez is excited to get to know Oster students, staff and families ahead of the new school year and will be officially communicating with the Oster community in the coming weeks. While the end of the school year is quickly approaching, there will also be ample opportunities to meet Mr. Sanchez in person in August as well as before the 2024-25 school year starts.

I’d also like to thank Mrs. Taormina for her significant contribution to Oster Elementary and Union School District. Mrs. Taormina is dedicated to supporting a positive transition. Please help me in welcoming Mr. Kyle Sanchez to our community.
